Jathi

  • Jathi is a sequence of rhythmic syllables in a structured pattern recited by a Nattuvanar.

  •  It forms the backbone of the pure dance (nritta) segments, guiding the dancer’s footwork concluding with a sequence called a theermanam

    • Example: "Tha Jam Thari Thaka Tha;
